I collected over 37 lists of the best jazz albums of all time from books, magazines and websites and combined them into one meta-list.  The results are below: all the albums on two or more of the original source lists, organized by rank, that is, with the albums on the most lists at the top.

For each entry I have provided: the name of the album; the name of the artist; any alternative names of the album; alternate albums with the same or similar material; the date or dates of recording (and the date the album was released, if different); an image of the album cover; the styles of jazz represented on the album (thanks to allmusic.com for these designations); and a list of the musicians on the album along with the instruments they played. (In some cases, to save space, I have listed only the most well-known musicians playing on the album.)
