I’ve always been surprised that these lists come out in December when the year is not over yet!
What happens to movies, books and music that come out in December, 2017? Are they included in the 2018 ‘best of’ lists?

Ruth: I’ve wondered the same thing, but I think you are right – the releases from December end up on the next year’s list. My guess is that, at least with books and music, there is a pressure to get these recommendations out there in time for folks to buy them for Christmas. – John
